Stop Spending Your Money

I’ve never studied much in finance, but I do know that the earlier you start investing the more you will gain later.

This is true of both money and yourselves. If you invest in yourself every day then you will reap greater and greater rewards later in life.

You should see everything that you do as an investment, and if you don’t then you should very strongly consider why you’re doing it.

You may find that you are either investing in things that you wish you weren’t or that you are spending your resources instead of investing them.

Investing is the use of a resource now with no immediate return because there is a greater payoff later. Spending is the use of a resource now with smaller immediate returns and no payoff later.

Going on a date? An investment with your significant other. Reading a book? An investment in your personal growth. Scrolling through Facebook? Spending time on a temporary distraction.

There may be situations in which you will need to spend a resource instead of investing it, but I can’t think of any at the moment. It depends on how you look at things like buying clothes, or food. Those are investments that pay off with warmth and nourishment, in my opinion.

Stop spending your time, money, or energy and start investing it.

Invest in yourself now for the payoff later.
