Two important things happen through growth that enable (and even encourage) further growth.
The first is that the more we grow, or the ‘bigger’ we grow, the more we can see. Our growth opens our eyes to things that we never would have seen, or even dreamed of before we started on our journey of growth.
We see other people in a new light, we see new possibilities where before there were only impossibilities, we see strength when before we saw weakness. That’s because our growth fundamentally changes who we are and how we approach the world.
The second important thing is that we see how much more growth can occur. When you’re just starting in something, whether work or life, it’s hard to imagine yourself in a vastly different position.
It’s difficult to imagine cooking duck confit when you only know how to cook pasta, but through the process of growth, you will eventually get to a place where you not only can make duck confit but it’s easy.
This is true for all areas of life. Work, faith, family, hobbies. As you grow in them you will start to see things differently, and you will see possibilities that you never imagined. The only thing that can stop you from getting there is if you never start.
